Directions to Brännö Värdshus & Pensionat Baggen
Brännö is easily reached from central Gothenburg by public transport. The tram takes about 30 minutes from the city centre to the ferry terminal Saltholmen. From Saltholmen ferries depart about once an hour. The fastest boat trip takes only 18 minutes!
Getting to Saltholmen by public transport: To get to Saltholmen you catch the number 11 tram from Gothenburg city centre. On weekdays during rush hours there is also the choice of taking the express bus, number 114 ”Ö-snabben”. In summer time you may also go by the number 9 tram. You can catch the trams at the Central Station or for example from one of the central stops ”Brunnsparken”, ”Domkyrkan” or ”Järntorget”, and the bus leaves from the Nils Ericson Terminal. Please make sure to check the time tables
Both the trams and the bus make their final stop just outside the ferry terminal. You can use the same ticket for the tram, bus and ferry, and it is valid for 90 minutes.
Getting to Saltholmen by private car or taxi: Private cars are forbidden in the southern archipelago, Therefore the car must be parked at Saltholmen or elsewhere before boarding the ferry. There is limited parking at Saltholmen, but there are larger parking spaces at both Långedrag and Hinsholmen (the two tram stops before Saltholmen). Follow the signs.
If you choose to go by taxi the address is Saltholmen Boat Terminal, Lasse Dahlquist plats 3.
Getting from the boat to the Inn: It is a pleasant walk through the old village from the ferry terminals to the Inn. From the ferry terminals, just follow the main road Rödstensvägen/Husviksvägen. Our adress is Husviksvägen 52 and we are sitauted in the middle of the island. From Brännö Rödsten it’s a distance of 1.2 km, which takes approximately 15 minutes to walk.
Boats and tickets: The ferries leave Saltholmen for Brännö almost every hour, from early morning to late night. There are two ferry stops on the island, Rödsten and Husvik.
Rödsten is the most heavily trafficated. The ferry ride takes about 20 minutes and makes one or two stops at Asperö. The ride to Husvik takes about 50 minutes and the ferry stops at several islands, including Köpstadsö and Styrsö.
The tram/bus ticket is also valid on the ferry. You can buy your ticket at the Västtrafik service station on Saltholmen or from the boatsman on the ferry. Bank cards are accepted.Timetables: The timetables for trams, buses and boats can be found at https://www.vasttrafik.se/#!/en/
